With 25 years of experience in lapidary and jewellry manufacturing, I bring my passion for gemstones to life. Based in Canada, I specialize in silver smiting and curate a stunning of loose gems from around the globe. My Story
I was born and raised in East Germany, where I trained and worked as a geological assistant and graphic designer. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, I fulfilled my dreams of travel and spent over a decade in Asia. I spent 12 years in Bangkok/ Thailand working for a leading lapidary & jewellery manufacturer. During that time I studied semi precious stones. This special skill led me to work for the leading jewellery manufacturer in Thailand as Design & Development Manager. There I learned about the mass production of jewellery and the presentation of jewellery on television shopping channels around the globe.
In 2002, my Canadian husband and me moved to Nova Scotia, Canada, to raise our two children. Once in Canada, I started my own company, GemFan Co. Ltd. I design and create jewellery with the gemstones is personally inspected and collected from around the world.
My inspirations are the gems and organic textures found in nature. My logo represents my zodiac sign, Pisces, and my love of water. I create original, authentic pieces that allow the wearer to express their individual style and feel the energy of the gems.
In 2019 me and my family moved to Moncton in New Brunswick. Here I create from my studio, sell in different shops, at the Framers market in Bouctouche and gems on Etsy.
